Dr. Jacqueline Mouzon

Dr. Jacqueline Mouzon graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine in 1999. She completed an internship and residency in psychiatry at the University of South Florida. Passionate about being a physician since elementary school, her area of interest shifted from obstetrics to psychiatry during medical school when she realized the therapeutic impact of time spent listening to patients.

In solo private practice since 2003, Dr. Jackie believes that there is more to psychiatry than medication management, though it is often a vital component. She encourages patients to incorporate spirituality, psychotherapy, exercise, sleep, healthy foods, and relationships into their recovery. She appreciates the intricacies at the interface of psychiatry and the body.

In addition to her medical practice, Dr. Jackie is a wife and mother, well aware that life often gets in the way of our best-laid plans.

“It is well with my soul…” is short line that hangs in Dr. Jackie’s office. It’s her favorite expression and when she is having a bad moment it reminds her to dig a little deeper. Written by Horatio Spafford back in the 1800’s, it’s a lyric from a hymn he wrote after the tragic loss of his 4 daughters in an accident at sea.
