Q: What can I do to improve my sex drive?

A: First, let me say you are not alone. According to Harvard Health Publications, sexual dysfunction affects both men and women of all ages for a variety of reasons, including old age, chronic illness, stress, and anxiety. Whether you are male or female, one of the first recommendations is lifestyle changes which include, but not limited to, regular exercise, reducing stress and fatigue.

  • Regular exercise – it boosts endorphins and increases blood flow, which can make sex more pleasurable causing an increased desire.
  • Boost your energy and decrease fatigue by getting enough sleep, taking naps when you can and eating a healthy diet high in protein and low in carbohydrates.
  • Reducing and/or managing your stress will improve your sex drive. According to Harvard Health Publications, women are particularly susceptible to the effects stress can have on their sex life. Men, on the other hand, can sometimes use sex as a way to relieve stress, which can cause conflict. To relieve stress, Mayo Clinic suggests participating in sports activities, practicing tai chi, or taking a yoga class.
  • Lastly, try some natural foods, which are also known as aphrodisiacs to help improve your sex drive. These foods are, but are not limited to chocolate, figs, bananas, avocados and of course oysters which are all known to promote a vigorous sex drive.

If these recommendations don’t improve your libido, talk with your physician to help identify underlying health problems. She may suggest proven strategies for enhancing sexual health, such as communicating with your partner, making healthy lifestyle choices, treating underlying medical conditions, and if appropriate, recommending a sex therapist and/or psychotherapist.

Q: What are some easy ways to enhance my natural beauty?

A: We all want to capture and hold on to the natural beauty we had as a child. But let’s face it, over a period of time our skin loses that supple, buttery soft, wrinkle free texture we were born with. So we look for ways to enhance what time has given us. There are several ways to do this. First, we must remember we are what we eat. So it is important to that we supply our bodies with nutrients that will help us fight father time. One thing we must do is drink plenty of water -remember we should drink one ounce of water for every pound we weigh daily. Also, adding SUPERFOODS to our diet can enhance our natural beauty and improve our body’s performance! The Cacao and Maqui Powder are rich in antioxidants. The Coconut Palm Sugar has a low glycemic index and will help us avoid artificial sweeteners. Julie Morris’ book, SuperFood Smoothies, offers great ideas on how to blend these awesome ingredients into a delicious nutritious morning breakfast or any meal. Exercise is also an important way to enhance your natural beauty. A brisk walk, dancing to your favorite song, or indoor cycling are all good options. But did you know there is an ultimate exercise you can do without leaving your house or even your bedroom to get that radiant glow you want? Yes, it’s sex! Having sex is the ultimate beauty booster. Rolling around in the hay, making love, getting it in, whatever you call it, having sex for 15 minutes a day leaves your cheeks flushed; your lips lusciously red; and your skin glowing and beautiful. Studies have shown that regular romps increase blood flow and bring essential nutrients and oxygen to the skin, which flush out harmful toxins and make us appear younger. Q: What things can I do to be happier?

A: The first challenge is to define true happiness for yourself. Once you have done this, include those things in your life that support your happiness and exclude those that do not. Is it time for yourself? hobbies? family? travel? You actually get to decide without the need for anyone’s validation. According to Dr Christine Carter, one of the keys to a happier life is finding one small area to improve – stand up straighter, watch a little less TV or meditating a few minutes a day. The improvement will spill over into other areas of your life. You then will find yourself exercising a bit more or procrastinating a bit less. Our good habits, large and small can make life easier, happier and more meaningful. One simple thing you can do is to be certain you are getting enough sleep. Sleep deprivation causes us to be more sensitive to negativity. Lastly, here’s a question to ask yourself. Are you not happy because you are trying to live up to someone else’s standards? If so, maybe it’s time to choose a different yardstick to measure your happiness. It doesn’t have to be owning a luxury car or a big house; it could simply be time for a walk in the park or reflecting on your current blessings. Remember, happiness is in your hands.  For a more in depth discussions, follow us on Facebook, Twitter and subscribe to our website.
